The Marketing Nation is taking over downtown San Francisco! Next week, Marketo’s annual conference will be in full swing. As the masses of CMOs, marketing managers, conversion rate optimizers, and growth hackers are soon to descend upon Moscone West, we felt it our duty (and honor) to share some of our favorite local hangouts.

San Francisco is a hot spot for tech marketing. It’s also a city filled with epicurean delights. As the city floods with Marketo Summit foodies from near and far, I thought it might be fun answer a few burning questions: Where can I find the best cocktail? Which restaurants are worth my time? Where can I get some instant business cards printed up?!

There will be jam-packed days of education and inspiration, with parties (and after-parties!) long into the night. If you’re a little worried about getting tuckered out, go the lazy route! Here’s our roundup for the best nearby spots to get a bite to eat, grab a drink, or take care of business:

Drink Here:

Blue Bottle Coffee
Best coffee in the area. (Some say the entire city!)

Samovar Tea Lounge, Yerba Buena Gardens
Need to take a load off? Pick a table overlooking beautiful Yerba Buena Gardens and drink some delicious tea. Great full tea service with paired bites from regions all over the world.

Mikkeller Bar
Hip beer bar—popular place for tech-minded folk who may or may not be wearing skinny jeans.

Press Club
Dark, modern, swanky wine bar. Lots of nooks and crannies for small-ish groups to gather. The food is decent, but the real draw is the wine selection from all over the world. Get your Napa and Sonoma fix here!

Dirty Habit
Some of the best cocktails in the area, pricey but worth it. Take the elevator inside the lobby of Hotel Palomar up-up-and awaayyyyy!

ThirstyBear Brewing Company
Great beer and tasty Spanish-influenced bites.

Jamber Wine Pub
Wine in canning jars. Poutine, tater tots, smoked bacon jam. Score a seat on the tiny patio if Karl the Fog doesn’t keep you inside.

Hotel Zetta San Francisco
Wait… Hotel? Oh yeah! Lively (in the later hours) lobby bar shaking great cocktails. Head to the cool second floor loft for pool, shuffleboard, ping-pong and giant plinko wall. Kids like it, but adults LOVE it.

Eat Here:

Kin Khao
Come for the drinks, stay for the incredible food! (It’s on the ground level of Parc 55 hotel.)

The Cavalier
British Pub by one of San Francisco’s hottest chefs—cocktails first, make a reservation for dinner in advance!

The Hall
A giant shared space featuring local brew & wine bar, communal tables, and many pop-up style restos. Amazing brunch/breakfast and evening burgers from The Whole Beast. Great for groups with picky folk 🙂

54 Mint
This sweet trendy little Italian resto is tucked away beside The Mint. 2-course prix fixe lunch, great dinner spot. Make a reservation! Gnocchi al Ragu. ’nuff said.

Dottie’s True Blue Cafe
Just. Do. It. Be warned, there can be a loooong line for this greasy-spoon breakfast spot. So grab a Blue Bottle Coffee and wait yer turn. It’s not quite the ‘touristy’ part of town, but where’s your sense of adventure?!

Bluestem Brasserie
Great wine list, lots of small shareable plates and a casual bar to hang out in with views of Market Street.

Wise Sons Jewish Delicatessen
Score a Reuben and soak up the sunshine in this sweet little plaza nestled between some darn cool architecture. (Outdoor walk-up window at the Contemporary Jewish Museum.)

Super Duper Burgers
Get the Super Burger, add the Garlic Fries. Add a Spiked Shake (yeah, you read that right).

In Case of Emergency Go Here:

Cask
Stock up at one of the coolest high-end liquor stores in town.

Walgreens
Forgot something?

Target
City Target! Really darn handy. Especially when you need clean socks.

Cole Hardware
Tape? Screwdriver? Timbuk2 Bag? This is the spot where city dwellers prefer to shop for their staples. You’ll find everything here.

FedEx Office Print & Ship Center
Nothing worse than running out of business cards! Call it in and pick it up.

Marketo Summit is all about full immersion. Go ahead, dive in—just don’t forget your inner hedonist while you’re at it.
